Azami-Mozoma

So it's college time! I love college! I feel so happy and inspired here, even though it's more work and more responsibility upon myself.  I'm actually trying to put the act of practicing into practice, it's something I have always avoided but it's coming along.  Here at college, I get to express my own style in a much more liberated manner, and class discussions are so much better and analysis encouraged to be in a less rigid box than it was in high school.  Being socially awkward, or many of the characteristics typically labeled weird don't seem to matter here so much.  There is always some event put on by one group or another, be it a musical performance or dance or play or game night or whatever, I haven't yet said that I have been bored.  (It also means I've had barely any time to play my Kingdom Hearts game or read anything not class-related :/ )  Every day I step outside and it strikes me how beautiful this place is.

Joy!  The good outweighs the bad at present, and therefore my mood is Delighted.  The typical freshman enamored with her surroundings, that I am. Oh- the cosplay I spoke about in my previous journal did happen; I was Mariah from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure at my one day at NYAF.

I really do expect to have a new Deviation up here not too long from now Even a WIP at least. Yay for action!

So, it's been a little while. Er, yeah, a couple months.
I'm done with high school now, and I'm just waiting for prom and to graduate!
I got Paint.NET recently, and I've been toying with it and downloading bunches of tools for it.  It's pretty neat, and easy to learn to use even for a beginner like me!
I've been practicing sketching things, like pencils and rubber bands and cat-people and puppies.  
I hoped to be working on a cosplay for this fall during the summer, but I wasn't able to secure a summer job, so I don't really have funds for it :/ And I don't know where I'll get any spare change during college either seeing as my job will go straight towards financial aid...does anyone have any suggestions?
I received my best writing pieces folder that school has kept for each student since 8th grade, one piece a year goes in and it's all gotten back in 12th grade.  I read a 23-page story I wrote for a Holocaust Allegory assignment in 8th grade, and realized I was much more creative then.  But just reading it seemed to help 'reopen' my imagination, so maybe I'll actually produce something soon!

I'm back again, after what, almost a year now? Six months, maybe? I've been trying to catch up on looking at all of the art of people I'm watching, a bit time-consuming but a very enjoyable way to use time.  (So if you see a comment/favorite on something from early '09 from me, this is why ^_^) Perhaps I have some hope that I'll soak up some skills through viewing, even though I know I actually have to try to be able to do anything ^_^;
Well, at this time I've already chosen and gotten into the college I want, so I know where I'm going in August.  Perhaps I'll take a class in art there, since I haven't had a chance since middle school
I don't have much more to say, I pretty much wanted to give a heads up that I'm still around.
Unless anyone has a suggestion about how to learn to sketch out...stuff?

I finally found it! I mean, I actually didn't know where it was.  I've looked into a few rooms, it seems fun.
I discovered I will be able to be in chorus again next year, hooray! It might have taken up my space for an art class though, which is not good...
I'm thinking of taking up Pyrography as a hobby.  I had lots of fun doing wood burnings when I was at girl scout camp, I'd love to pick it up again.
In other news, I'm actually drawing again! Not much, just some character sketches (still out-of-proportion, as usual) but I have a muse again, hehe.
Lastly, today is my last midterm of the week (and the toughest- AP US), so I have tomorrow off of school.

It felt so long...

At least I got to see some people I hadn't over the summer.  But there's a ton of people I have yet to see in school...

On another note, I think I want to try my hand at marionette-making.  I don't know where I'll get the time from though- I keep spending it all playing the MMORPG Mabinogi, from the same company that makes does Maplestory.  Much fun!
